A new vending machine in Japan dispenses free drinks after showing paid advertising. The new auto-vendor has a central LCD screen that is either 19 or 10.4 inches across and which displays ads that are either 15 or 30 seconds long.

Before you think it’s just a gimmick to get consumers to watch ads, it’s estimated that the beverage company Apex and their advertising agency WillB will gross ¥400 million in their first year. VIA Digital World Tokyo
